January Salon

  • MCGD 220 25th St. Suite 202 Brooklyn, NY 11232 USA (map)

Salon events are free and allow artists to share short works or works-in-process and receive feedback in an intimate, casual setting. Audience members can look forward to experiencing a variety of performances and socializing with the artists and fellow art enthusiasts!

The January 19 Salon will feature:

Singer-songwriter Lacy James, whose work is a mixture of the dreamlike and the everyday. Lacy's eclectic songs draw from multiple genres ranging from rock and pop to world music, folk, jazz and electronic/ambient.

Walter Ego, whose music has been described as “Part Magical Mystery Tour–era Beatles, part Elvis Costello, part Nick Cave maybe. Lyrics drive his songs, but his tunes can be more ornate and complex than you typically find in his kind of powerpop and jangle rock.”

Paul Fairall, an English musician living in New York City. His songwriting partner, Linda Danz, is a native New Yorker who writes fiction. They met in Paris. Together they write in the style of alternative folk, telling stories that are quirky, pop and romantic.

Choreographer Eryn Goldstein, who is a recent graduate of the Hartt School at the University of Hartford in Connecticut. Eryn will perform a solo inspired by music of composer Francesco De Chirico

Visual artist David Irving Weiner. "Learning to function as a catalyst within set reactions of elemental forces, accelerating the developmental processes of time, I internalize the role of alchemical mediator in my artistic practice. My event-based sculptures examine the dynamics of closeness, proximity and fluidity between artist, materials and surroundings"
